Abda Fayyaz

Abda Fayyaz is a Dubai-based multidisciplinary artist whose intricate hand-drawn works investigate abstraction through repetition, rhythm, and the meditative possibilities of mark-making. Rooted in contemporary abstraction and informed by the spatial logic of calligraphy, her practice reflects on themes of time, transformation, memory, and the interconnected systems that shape both nature and consciousness.

Developed over more than twelve years, Fayyaz’s compositions are characterized by a careful balance of precision, restraint, and subtle instability. Through the accumulation of meticulously rendered marks, she creates densely layered surfaces that evolve perceptually through prolonged observation. Rather than relying on direct symbolism, her works invite moments of stillness, continuity, and contemplation, encouraging viewers to engage with the quiet complexities embedded within the image.

Over the past three years, Fayyaz has participated in nearly thirty exhibitions across the UAE and internationally, including presentations in Paris and London. Her exhibition history includes notable appearances at Maraya Art Centre and three consecutive editions of DIFC Art Nights, reflecting the growing recognition of her distinctive visual language within contemporary art discourse.
