Anakha Nair

Anakha Nair is an Indian-born, Texas-based self-taught contemporary artist and founder of Kalathrishna Arts Centre, an international institution dedicated to nurturing creativity through fine arts and classical performing arts. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, moments of enlightenment, nature, and the depth of human emotion, her practice explores the profound relationship between humanity and the natural world.

Working across oil, acrylic, and mixed media, Nair combines elements of realism with symbolic and philosophical storytelling. Her paintings reflect on themes of life, transformation, and resilience, using visual symbolism to create spaces for contemplation and personal interpretation.

Nair’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Cannes Art Biennale, Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, and the London Women in Art Biennale. Alongside her artistic practice, she is committed to fostering meaningful connections through art and arts education. She is a member of the American Federation of Arts and the International Arts Association.
