ANAMARIA MBF DESIGN

Anamarija Matić is a Croatian contemporary abstract artist whose practice explores the relationship between architecture, materiality, and gesture. Drawing on her professional background as an interior designer, she incorporates construction tools, industrial materials, and architectural processes into her artistic practice, transforming them into expressive abstract compositions.

Through layered textures, bold gestural marks, and geometric interventions, Matić investigates the dynamic balance between structure and spontaneity, precision and intuition, order and disruption. Her work reflects an ongoing dialogue between the built environment and artistic expression, where material processes become integral to the creation of visual meaning.

Music also plays an important role in her practice, informing the rhythm, movement, and compositional harmony of her paintings. Rather than depicting physical spaces, Matić creates works that invite viewers to experience space as both an architectural construct and an emotional landscape.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Venice, Milan, Rome, and Barcelona, where her distinctive fusion of architectural language and contemporary abstraction continues to engage audiences through its material richness and expressive visual vocabulary.
