Fransie Malherbe Frandsen
Fransie Malherbe Frandsen is a South African-born artist, writer, and illustrator based in Geneva, Switzerland. Her multidisciplinary practice is informed by a diverse educational background that includes a Bachelor of Arts from Stellenbosch University, a qualification in Graphic Design, and a postgraduate degree in Art Psychotherapy from the University of the West of England. She also studied as a guest student at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen and furthered her studies at Central Saint Martins in London.
Through her work, Frandsen explores themes of childhood memory, transformation, and the enduring influence of the past on present experience. Her practice examines how fragments of memory continue to shape perception, emotion, and behavior, revealing the subtle ways in which personal histories remain embedded within the human psyche.
By translating these internal processes into a compelling visual language, Frandsen investigates the complexities of the human condition. Her work invites viewers to reflect on their own latent narratives, encouraging a deeper awareness of the memories and experiences that continue to inform identity, perception, and emotional life.
