Nataly Kenny
Nataly Kenny is a London-based artist originally from Yerevan, Armenia, whose practice is driven by a deep appreciation for color, atmosphere, and emotional expression. Following her move to England in 2001, she later embraced the opportunity to dedicate herself fully to her long-standing passion for art, developing a body of work that bridges impressionism and abstraction.
Working primarily in oil paint, Kenny also explores acrylics, soft pastels, and gouache, embracing the unique qualities of each medium. Her work is informed by a fascination with the interplay of light, shadow, and color, which she employs to capture the character and mood of landscapes, portraits, and figurative subjects.
Alongside her representational work, Kenny has developed an increasing interest in abstract expression, using color, gesture, and form as vehicles for conveying emotion. Through this exploration, she seeks to create works that resonate on a personal level, offering moments of reflection, joy, and connection for the viewer.
Inspired by artists such as Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Sorolla, Sargent, and Zorn, Kenny’s practice reflects a commitment to both observation and expression. Her work strives to establish a harmonious dialogue between the artwork and its audience, inviting viewers into spaces shaped by light, feeling, and imagination.
